Save Davidson Nature Walk

  • Start: June 9, 2018 1:00 PM
  • End: June 9, 2018 2:30 PM

Join Save Davidson and Dr. Carrie DeJaco for a nature walk in Beaty Street Woods. Dr. DeJaco is an Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Science at Pfeiffer University. Carrie is excited about the potential of the Beaty Street property and will offer thoughts about the effects of erosion from the runoff that feeds the pond, how the woods are changing as the property moves from being farm land toward becoming a climax forest appropriate to this particular place, and the role invasive plants play in this process.

The walk will begin at 203 Hobbs St., Davidson, NC in the Hobbs Hill neighborhood. Dress for walking in the woods keeping in mind insects, Poison Ivy, etc. The walk will last about 1½ hours. Bring your camera, binoculars and an open mind.
